Mistakes, and Your Ticket to Survival Island
With a business name like Dirt1x (Do It Right the 1st Time) you’d think we would NEVER admit to a mistake. Mistakes are inevitable. It’s how you address them that can make or break your business. If you have built a solid relationship with your client, served them well, treated them right, they will be more accommodating with you when you inevitably make an error. For us this week, it was a mis-billing. And our client was awesome with us about it.
There are other kinds of mistakes that businesses make in their marketing decisions that make our team sad. Choosing to advertise in unwise publications. Running ads on billboards that are too wordy. Neglecting the marketing while business is good, only to find themselves in a drought later on.
For businesses that are just starting out, some of these mistakes can be fatal flaws. It’s hard to recover when your marketing budget is blown from bad decisions. That’s where we come in.
This next week on June 27 at 5 p.m. I’ll be addressing the Business Women of Fayette and Coweta with a talk I’m calling Survival Island. We’re starting with what to do when you are starting out with just your business, a cell phone and a prayer. I’m addressing three sales tactics that work, and where to put your first marketing dollars, once you’ve earned them.

It’s easy to make mistakes when we are in a vacuum with no outside input into what the right things to do are. I’ve been running Dirt1x for 14 years, and I’ve seen what works for my clients, and what fails. I’ve walked my clients out of bad choices and into better ones. Maybe that will be just what you need, too. I’m looking forward to talking with you.
